With María Tausiet
Next Friday, February 3, María Tausiet will speak on “Una Calíope ilustrada en el Madrid del siglo XVIII: autoridad femenina y retórica de la sumisión” (“An Enlightened Calliope in eighteenth-century Madrid: female authority and rhetoric of submission”), at the first session of the XVIII Seminario Interdisciplinar de Estudios sobre Cultura Escrita (SIECE), organized by the University of Alcalá. This year the seminar is devoted to the theme “La herencia de Calíope: feminidades y subalternidades gráficas” (“Calliope’s legacy: femininities and graphic subalternities”). The first session is entitled “La otra Historia” (“The other History”) and will take place in Room 9 of the Facultad de Filosofía y Letras of the University of Alcalá (Alcalá de Henares, Madrid), 11:00-14:00 CET. Professor Mercedes Yusta Rodrigo, of the University of Paris-8, will also participate in this session with a lecture on “Palabras mediadas. Escrituras de y sobre las mujeres de la guerrilla antifranquista (1939-1952)” (“Mediated words. Writings by and about women of the anti-Franco guerrilla (1939-1952)”).
