Circulating Gender in the Global Enlightenment: Ideas, Networks, Agencies (CIRGEN)

Elena Serrano will present “Circulating materials, circulating gender. Women and the Spanish Economic Societies at late 18th century”.

The seminar, organised by Elena Serrano, Annette Lykknes and Joris Mercelis, offers comparative perspectives on the experiences of women who pursued their interests in chemistry and experimentation with materials in male-dominated scientific institutions, ranging from the early nineteenth-century economic society to the early to mid-twentieth-century academic institute and industrial research laboratory.
