Ester García Moscardó and Nuria Soriano Muñoz have organizaded the international seminar “Cuerpos, emociones y subjetividades” in collaboration with the project EMODER. In the morning, three doctoral students from the Universitat de València will present their current research: Arantxa Sola Moragues (“Pidiendo perdón y misericordia: emociones y pecadores contra natura (inicio s. XVII)”), Mariana Hetti Gomes (“Esculpiendo el corpus americano en los inicios del siglo XVIII”) and Marc Sorribas Vilarrocha (“Para conocer a los monstruos. Juan López Cancelada y la ilustración de dos obras sobre la Revolución de Haití (1806-1810)”). Laura Guinot Ferri (Universitat de València/Università di Bologna) will moderate this session. In the afternoon, the keynote speaker, Estela Roselló Soberón (UNAM, IIH), will speak on “En defensa y cuidado de la dignidad humana: cuerpo y subjetividad en la experiencia emocional de mujeres esclavas (Nueva Orleans, s. XVIII)” (with Mónica Bolufer Peruga as presenter and moderator).
The seminar will take place on Tuesday 20 February from 11:30 h to 18:00 h CET in the Sala de Juntas of the Facultat de Geografia i Història, Universitat de València.
